Walter Cates

Walt passed away February 27, 2022 surrounded by family. He was born on October 27, 1940 in Washington D.C to the late Ruth Evelyn Cates (Elam) and the late Robert Craven Cates. His is preceded in death by his wife Irene L. Cates.

He had by 3 sons with his first wife Sharon, 4 stepchildren with his second late wife Emma, and 5 stepchildren with his late wife Irene. And is survived by an abundant number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Walter loved to tell stories and spoke often of growing up on a farm and his time in the Air Force at an early age. He was well loved by those in his community. And spent a lot of his free time fishing on the pier and surf fishing with his wife and family.

There will be a viewing on Friday, March 4th at Ambrose Funeral Home 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe MD 21227 between 2-4pm and 7-9pm with a service beginning at 4pm.

And as Pop would say “Peace and Love”
