Walter Beatty

Walter Beatty, age 72, sadly passed away on November 3rd, 2022, at home with his family by his side.  He was born in Virginia to the late Russell & Garnett Beatty.

He was the devoted husband of Diane Beatty; loving father of Donna Kunath (SIL Tom Kunath), Christina “Kippy” Beatty, & Walter Beatty, Jr (DIL Lauren Glaze Beatty).; the cherished grandfather of Brooke Kunath, Luke Kunath, Vincent Ward, Dominic Ward, & Brooks Beatty.  He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Walter was predeceased by his father, Russell Beatty and mother, Garnett Beatty, brothers, Teddy Beatty, John Beatty, and Roger Beatty and sister, Peggy Fitzgerald.

Walter proudly served his country in the US Army for 22 years.  After he retired, he dedicated himself to serving US veterans at the VA hospital and then ended his career servicing the children of the community in the Harford County Public School System.  Never missing a game, Walter was an avid Orioles fan and loved all sports.  Walter loved spending time with family and friends playing cards, listening to music, watching movies and telling jokes.  He will be desperately missed by all those that he left behind.  Walter was one of a kind and to be loved by him was to be truly blessed.

Family and friends are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Walter’s life in the way he would want to be remembered – as a loving and caring man who enjoyed life. “Celebration of Life” will take place at the family owned and operated Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne, 2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd, Lansdowne, MD 21227 on November 26, 2022, visitation 2:00-5:00, service begins at 5:00.
