Mr. Thomas J. Sullivan, age 95, passed away, peacefully, at his residence at Charlestown Retirement Community. Mr. Sullivan was born at home, in Baltimore, MD, on August 23, 1927. He was the youngest child of the late Patrick Sullivan and the late Mary Ellen (Holland) Sullivan. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary (Leonard) Sullivan. He is survived by his foster children Robert Virts and his wife Debbie, Robin Virts, and Gary Markley, as well as many other family members and friends.
He honorably served in the United States Navy. He was retired from Baltimore County Public Schools – Dundalk High School – where he taught English. He also volunteered at Spring Grove Hospital for many years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching documentaries, old Westerns, and just about anything history related.
During his final years, he was lovingly cared for by his great niece, Micki (Michele) Kick and multiple caregivers from Options for Senior America and Bunny’s Home Care, of special note are Emily Harvey, Brenda Ninjoh, Priscilla Aligawesa, Kathern Young, and Angel Rodriguez.
He is predeceased by his siblings: Martin, Edwin, James, Gordon, Patrick, Margaret (nee Sullivan) Smit, Regina (nee Sullivan) Andreone, Sister Mary Ellen Sullivan, Sister Mary Kateri Sullivan, and Mary (nee Sullivan) Morini.
Family and Friends may pay their final respects at Ambrose Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Arbutus, MD 21227 on Thursday, July 6th from 3-6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday at 11am at Our Lady of the Angels, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228. Burial will follow at New Cathedral Cemetery.
