It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Kramer Ridge on December 22, 2024, at the age of 68. Terry was born on October 23, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, to William and Mary Jane (nee Wetzel) Kramer.
Terry met the love of her life and beloved husband, Robert Ridge, in Baltimore, Maryland; they wed in 1980 and were married for 44 years. Terry was known for her kind smile, upbeat personality, and ability to see people for who they were. Terry grew up in various locations around the Baltimore community, including the Halethorpe Lansdowne and Rivera Beach communities, before moving to Jarrettsville, Maryland, in 1989, where she and Rob raised their two children, Lauren (35) and Matthew (31). She was a known member and familiar face in the Jarrettsville community.
She served as a PTA President and Board Member at Jarrettsville Elementary School before joining the staff as a special education paraprofessional. She touched many lives over the years, either in the hallways of the elementary schools she served or enduring all weather conditions on the sidelines as a cheerleader for all teams requested (soccer, baseline, lacrosse, competitive jump rope…. thanks, mom), to the front row of every production of John Carroll School and Washington College theater productions. She retired from Youths Benefit Elementary School in 2019 and transitioned to the role of full-time Nana.
She lived out her retired years in Ocoee, Florida, where she enjoyed the sunshine and spending time with her granddaughters, especially volunteering at Thornebrooke Elementary School. She was also an avid Disney Mom who loved taking trips to see her son, Matt, perform throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.
Terry is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Lauren, son-in-law Jonathan, and son, Matthew; granddaughters, Zelda and Hailey, as well as her loving Corgi, Luna; mother, Mary Jane Kramer; sisters, Sharon, Brenda, and Becky; brothers, William Jr., Michael, and Jeremy and their spouses, Michael, Patrick, Linda, Linda, Michael, and Amy and also survived by several loving nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and extended family members. Terry is preceded in death by her father, William, and sister-in-law, Pixie.
