Stanley P. Foley, age 85, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2019. Stanley is the beloved husband of Marilyn F. Foley of 65 years; devoted father of Stanley Foley, Jr. and his wife Brenda, Phyllis Danzi and her husband Donato, Dorothy DeLeonibus and her husband Lawrence, Sr., and Scott Foley and his wife Lisa; cherished grandfather of 11 and great grandfather of 16; dear brother of Mildred Mika, Barbara Layton, Helen Brusko, and Lois Figliola. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Luella Foley and siblings, Delores Costa and Harold Foley.
Stanley loved spending time with his family, especially if it involved ice cream. He had many interests but could often be found enjoying a puzzle or cheering on his favorite football team, the Redskins. Stanley was proud to be a Mason which was quite the commitment. He belonged to the Washington Daylight Lodge #14 which allowed him to be a Shriner, be in the Scottish Rite, and be affiliated with Eastern Star Peace Chapter 116. Stanley was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving aboard the U.S.S. John S.McCain which included a tour in Cuba. After his time in the Navy he became a typesetter, working at the News Tribune in Perth Amboy, NJ. Years later when the opportunity presented itself, he moved to Maryland where he worked for the Government Printing Office. He retired from the Government Printing office after 30 years. He will be sorely missed by many.
A viewing will be held at the Maryland Masonic Homes, 300 International Circle, Cockeysville, MD 21030 on Saturday from 1-3pm followed by a funeral service at 3pm.
