RESTREPO, Sister Marthe

Called home to God on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the age of 89, SISTER MARTHE RESTREPO, born Marta Maria Restrepo in San Cristobal, Colombia, South America on October 16, 1924. She was the daughter of Alfredo and Ana Francisca Restrepo and the fourth of nine children. She entered the Little Sisters of the Poor and pronounced her vows in Colombia on December 9, 1945. Sister Marthe then spent most of her religious life in the United States, cooking and caring for the elderly in homes located in Michigan, Kentucky, New York, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and in St. Martin's Home in Catonsville through her devoted services and later through prayer. Sister Marthe had been at St. Martin's Home since February 1991. Sister is survived by a brother and sister, Ignacio and Teresa Restrepo (Colombia) and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation at St. Martin's Home (Little Sisters of the Poor) Monday, November 11th from 3 - 7 pm with Rosary at 4:30 pm. Funeral Mass at the chapel of St. Martin's Home on Tuesday November 12 at 11:00 am. Interment following at New Cathedral Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 601 Maiden Choice Lane, Baltimore, MD 21228 are welcome.
