Sara Vogelsang

Sara Nettie Vogelsang (nee Garonzik), age 86 passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020.    She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years George Leo Vogelsang, Sr.  She was a special, devoted mother to 4 children, Lorrie Ballantine (George), George Jr., Lynn and the late Michael.  She was also the beloved grandmother of 5 grandchildren Daniel, Donald, Matthew, Jessica, and Jordan and 6 great grandchildren.  She was the sister of Jack Garonzik, Harry Garonzik and the late Reba Coe.   In addition to being a mother and head cashier for years, she was an avid reader and turned many people into a reader as well.  She was humble and kind and taught her children and grandchildren to always be the same.  She had a special way about her with a kind and generous soul and always with a big smile on her face that drew people in and made them feel special.  She was interested in everyone she met and for this she left a special mark on all those that met her.   She was loved by so many people and will be truly missed by family, friends and all that knew her.  In lieu of flowers please contribute to her favorite charities:  St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital or Salvation Army.

There will be a gathering at in the Arbutus location on Thursday, December 31st between the hours of 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The family will be hosting a celebration of Sara’s life in the spring.
