Sandra Catherine Balzano

Sandra Catherine Balzano, 79, of Arbutus, MD passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024. 

Sandy or “Nan”, as she was affectionately known to most, was born in Baltimore, MD on June 9, 1944. She was the youngest of her siblings and was very close with them her entire life.

Nan was the cherished mother of two daughters Wendy Isern and husband Steve Isern of Arbutus, MD and Laurie Seletzky and husband Chris Seletzky of Hanover, PA; adored grandmother to five grandchildren Mindy Mykietyn and husband Sean Mykietyn of Ashburn, VA, Megan Karcher and husband Hank Karcher of Severna Park, MD, Christopher Seletzky Jr. and wife Rebecca Seletzky, Nick Seletzky, and Grace Seletzky all of Hanover, PA; treasured great grandmother to five great grandchildren Connor and Violet Mykietyn, Hadley and Rowan Karcher, and Carson Seletzky; dear sister of Joan Waters and her late husband Joe Waters and Donna Saia and her late husband Joe Saia; she is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Nan lived close to many family members and made a point to often visit loved ones who lived further away. She was very involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved gardening and decorating and had a keen eye for details. She had a strong belief in traditions and loved gathering everyone together in celebration. She lived her life as a very "young" great grandmother and her spunky spirit is sure to be missed by all who knew her.
