Ruth "Boots" Shipley

On September 3rd, 2017, Ruth "Boots" Shipley passed away. She was the devoted mother of Kathleen Shipley, Margaret Nalley and her husband Mark, and Michael Shipley and his wife Margaret; cherished grandmother of Robert Card, Lindsay Hess and her husband Sean, Edward Ackerman, Jr., Tiffany Singletary and her husband Elliot, and Jennifer Shipley; loving great grandmother of Lily and Sophia Hess; dear sister of Betty Cook and her husband William, and  Nancy Mills; caring sister-in-law of Shirley Dill, Elizabeth Fletcher, Patricia Meile, Catherine Shipley, and James Shipley and his wife Sara. Boots is preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Shipley; son, Robert R. Shipley, Jr.; siblings, Hilda Elburn and her husband Lemont, Lillian Chapman and her husband Norman, Ilean Brinkmeyer and her husband Kenneth, Doris Koslowski and her husband John, Mary DiAngelo and her husband Samuel, and Charles Dill; and in-laws Calvin Mills, Charles Meile, Earl Fletcher, John Shipley, Lois Miller and her husband William. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held at American Legion Dewey Lowman Post 109, 1610 Sulphur Spring Rd., Halethorpe on Sunday, September 24th from 12 Pm to 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in "Boots's" name to The Dove House or St. Agnes Hospital.
