Ruth Emily (Baltzell) Wolinski, 87, of Ellicott City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2024 in her room at the Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant. Born May 12, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Neepier and Dorothea M. (Lehmann) Baltzell. She was the loving wife of the late Major Paul Wolinski of the Baltimore County Police Department.
Ruth attended Milford Mill High School. Her talents were widespread as seen by the various jobs in her lifetime. She was a Baltimore County Police Department school crossing guard, Montgomery Ward major appliance salesperson, and realtor for Ryland Homes. As an avid gardener, she opened Brice Run Nursery in Randallstown, and later, worked at Edrich Farms Nursery in Windsor Mill. She enjoyed buying, decorating, and selling homes and loved playing cards with friends and relatives. Mostly, Ruth will be fondly remembered by her love of family, energetic personality, and humorous wit.
Ruth is survived by sons David and his wife Bettye of Frankford, DE and Douglas and his wife Stacy of Windsor Mill, MD, and grandchildren Johanna Wolinski, Doug Wolinski (Julia), Kelsey Harman (Tyler), and Jennifer Ridilla (Peter). She was predeceased by sister Olga Marie Woerner.
A family graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery, officiated by daughter-in-law Reverend Bettye Wolinski, was held Tuesday, January 10, 2024. Arrangements were made by Ambrose Funeral Home, Halethorpe, MD.
