Rita Metcalf

On December 31, 2015, Rita M. Metcalf, age 74, passed away in Halethorpe, Maryland. Rita was born on May 2, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late John Edward Sroka and the late Loretta Margaret Sroka (nee Winkler). She was the beloved wife of the late Granville Metcalf for 22 years. Loving mother of Samuel James Metcalf; dear sister of Dolores Heredia, Jacqueline Bishop and her husband Norvall, Madelon Kellough, Judith Mannone, Stephen Sroka and his wife Nancy, Mary Jennifer Sroka.Caring sister-in-law of Constance Sroka. Also survived by many nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends. Rita is preceded in death by her siblings Carol L. Noppenberger, Thomas B. Sroka, and John E. Sroka, Jr.

Rita enjoyed spending time with her family. One of the many things she enjoyed was her vacation in the summmer at Nags Head in North Carolina. She loved to eat Chinese food, Steak (filet mignon), and hated spicy food. Her favorite color was purple. Her television was always turned to Law & Order and NCIS. Rita admire the egyptians and the egyptians pyramids. Often,Rita would take joy in gambling. Last but not least Rita loved to dance, Yard sales, eating out and Scary movies.Rita will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family members and friends will honor Rita’s life at the family owned and operated AMBROSE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Arbutus, Maryland 21227 with a public visitation on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 2pm-5pm.
