Rev. Edward "Skip" Koritzer

Rev. Edward William “Skip” Koritzer passed away on November 5, 2015. Skip is the son of the late Edward J. Koritzer, Jr. and the late Hilda J. Koritzer; loving father of Ted William Snyder, James Wesley Koritzer, and David Lee Heaton; caring brother of Margaret Ann Worthen (Eddie), Donna Jean Lantz (late Paul, Sr.), the late George Allen, the late Rosemarie Carroll Woodland, Frances Louise Goldstraw (Brian), Sarah Ruth McClung (Terry), Susan Hilda Locklear (late Melvin), Kenneth Albert Koritzer (Denise), Mary Bernice Keyser (late James), the late Linda Theresa, Wayne Andrew Koritzer (Alesia), and Rita Elaine Raymond (Ray). Skip is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Rev. Skip being the oldest of 13 children, always wanted to take care of everyone, even the day he was taken to the hospital he spent 2 hours in a deli giving rewards to children that were showing respect to their parents.  His first love was for God, his ministries in churches, and the nursing homes.  His family was everything to him.  Rev. Skip loved music and he did everything he could to make everyone happy, especially children; he would be characters at parties and Santa for Christmas.  Rev. Skip loved his music.  He was District and Post Chaplain for the American Legion Post 137 Morrell Park.  Rev. Skip was very generous and would share anything he had with everyone.  He was a volunteer for the Fire Department and Red Cross for many years.  He wore many hats through the years and was proud of each and every one of them.

A viewing will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Arbutus, MD 21227 on Sunday, November 8 from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 9 at 10am with burial to follow in Lorraine Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Skip’s memory to the American Legion #137, 1508 Desoto Rd, Baltimore, MD 21230.
