Reginald Scott

September 10, 1978 — September 15, 2014

Reginald Alim Scott, was born on September 10, 1978 in Baltimore, Maryland to Wanda Scott and Richard Motes, Sr. On Monday September 15, 2014, God touched his hand and called His angel home to rest.

Reggi, as he was known by many, completed his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He enlisted in the United States Army in August of 2006. He served as a Sergeant in the Iraq Designated Imminent Danger Zone later receiving an honorable discharge in March of 2011. After receiving an honorable discharge, he was employed in Afghanistan and Dubai for a couple years later returning to Maryland to complete his education in Information Systems at Tesst College. He acknowledged Christ as His Lord and Savior and would often be seen studying the Word of God.

Reggi enjoyed spending time with his late Grandmother Agnes annually during the summer along with his siblings. He was a perfect gentleman and a gentle man who lived a vibrant, prosperous life. His abundant life has been plentiful because of his overwhelming love for his family and friends. He was loved by many for his sense of humor and will be missed and forever in our hearts. For now, we will celebrate and let Reggi rest; although we loved him, God loved him best.

He leaves to cherish his most memorable memories: his loving and devoted mother, Wanda Scott; father, Richard Motes, Sr.; four sisters, Selena, Delnique, Lisa, and Teknika Motes; one brother, Richard Motes, Jr.; six nieces, Latesha, Channell, Patrice, Jamella, Veronica, and Ricky; six nephews, Hakeem, Ishmeal, Tavon, Raekwon, Keyon, and Richard, III; nine great nieces and nephews; five aunts, Tiye (Mutee) Mulazim, Aiesha Poetry, Carolyn (Leon) Scott, Jean Jackson and Jeanette Austin; three uncles, Reggie Johnson, Zachariah Alim, and Thomas Walker; loving companion, Michelle Slowe; special friends, Mark Roberts, Richard Cole, Michael Israel, and Tavon Love; and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a public viewing for Reggi held at our Arbutus location on Wednesday, September 24th from 3 PM to 5 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM. A Wake service will be held on Thursday, September 25th from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM where a funeral service will then begin. Interment will immediately follow at Garrison Forest Maryland Veteran Cemetery.
