Patricia Sly

On July 26th Patricia Jane (Bathgate) Sly passed away. Born in Brooklyn Heights, MD to the late Howard and Mary Anna Bathgate, Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Paul Sly, Sr.; loving mother of Paul “Phil” Sly (Kathy), Dale Sly (Virginia “Ginny”), and Jeanne Fritz (Mike); beloved grandmother of Patrick Sly; and cherished sister of Marylou Ferrara (John), Rose Sunderland (Warren), Helen Lucas (Robert), Gregory “Skip” Bathgate (Brenda), and sister-in-law of Christine Colehouse (Ron). Patricia is predeceased by her daughter Eileen Marie and son Joseph Michael. Patricia is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.

Pat was a devoted volunteer. She volunteered as a cook and cafeteria worker at St. Jerome School and devoted much of her time to several PTAs throughout the years. She was a dearly loved Cub Scout den mother and volunteered her stenography and clerical skills to several neighborhood organizations. Pat loved the outdoors, and she worked tirelessly tending to her colorfully landscaped garden year-round.

Pat and Paul eventually moved to Arizona where they continued passionately rooting for the Ravens and Orioles. She was addicted to continental rummy and her game shows and enjoyed spending time with her Arizona family and friends. Pat moved back to Maryland last year to be close to her family here. Family and friends will remember her funny and feisty spirit, and her love of animals.
