Norene Parker

Mrs. Norene Parker, 72, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 after a long battle with early onset Alzheimer’s.  She was the high school sweetheart and beloved wife of the late James Parker. They shared more than fifty years of happy memories, two children, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Born February 7, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, Norene was the daughter of the late James Lemma and Margaret Lemma, who still lives in Royal Oak, Michigan. Norene was a wonderful homemaker who worked as a legal secretary before and after raising her children. She also worked side by side with Jim, managing the office of their contracting business for many years.  She loved to read and sew, and she and Jim spent decades golfing and traveling together. A devoted mother and grandmother, she dedicated most of her life to and always surrounded herself with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: son, Rex Parker and wife Renee of Mt. Airy, and  daughter, Beth Parker Wieczynski and husband Scott of Halethorpe; her grandchildren: Ann Massie and her husband Shaun, Meg DeLise and her fiancé Joe Gardner, and Beau, Dominic and Calli Parker; and her great grandson, Rylan Massie. She is also survived by her loving mother, Margaret Lemma, her sister Carol Caughlin, and her nieces, Lisa, Laura and Karen.

The family will receive friends at Ambrose Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe on Thursday, August 29, 2019, from 1-3 PM, where a memorial service will begin at 3PM.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
