Nancy Ehrlich

Peacefully on July 10, 2022 Nancy Ehrlich passed away.  She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Ehrlich, Sr.; loving mother of Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. and his wife Kendel; cherished grandmother of Drew and Josh; dear sister of Sara and the late Donald, Ardel, Thorald, & Bette.

A note from her son:

My mom was always Robin to Dad's Batman. Always there – always helpful – always supportive – always protective – always Team Ehrlich, whether at the dinner table, on the playing field, or at the polls.

Speaking of which: Dad's performance as a poll worker on behalf of his son was legendary, and always hyper aggressive. Mom took the more subtle but just as effective approach. Her modus operandi was more like, "This is my boy – he will do right by you - I promise." And everyone knew a promise from her was good as gold.

Mom was bright and always involved. She was a legal assistant/paralegal, a locally known artist, a Sunday school and piano teacher, and a community volunteer for a large array of Arbutus related projects. But most of all she was (along with Dad) my (and Kendel's and Drew's and Josh's) biggest fan. Together they defined unconditional love.

I am saddened by our loss, but brightened by the fact that she will no longer be suffering at the hand of a terrible dementia that so limited her over the last five years. Of course, I am equally brightened by her reunification with her husband of 63 years.

Any success I have enjoyed on this earth is a direct result of the foundation laid by Bob and Nancy Ehrlich. For this - and so much more - I am eternally grateful.

A celebration of life will take place in our Arbutus location, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road on Thursday September 8, 2022 from 6-9PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy’s name may be directed to:
