After vigorously fighting a difficult six year battle with cancer, Millie passed away peacefully in her sleep on August, 27th 2018. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Jack Yates. She is also survived by three siblings and their spouses; John Wells and wife Ann, Norman Wells & wife Tina, Donna and husband Raymond Snyder as well as nieces and nephews Savannah & John Wells, Bo Chaffman, Michelle Craver, Betty Mauro, Robin Anderson & Charles Fonner. In addition, Millie is survived by loving family, friends and neighbors.
Millie has influenced and motivated thousands of students during her 47 years of teaching. 33 years of these were served lovingly at St. Phillip Neri school in Linthicum, MD where she she retired. She provided language arts instruction to all middle school students at St. Philip Neri and was dedicated to the success of each student.
Millie will be dearly missed by her family, friends, neighbors and former students.
Family and friends may call at the family owned Ambrose Funeral Home, Inc., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Arbutus on Friday, August 31st from 3 PM to 5 PM and from 7 PM to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4414 Wlkins Ave., Baltimore on Saturday, September 1st at 10 AM. Interment will immediately follow of Lake View Memorial Park.
