Michael Hughes, Sr.

On September 1, 2021, Michael Richard Hughes, Sr. passed away,  He was the beloved husband of 58 years of Betty (nee Hynes) Hughes; loving father of Sharon Gerwig and her husband Bill, Michele Hill and her husband Shawn, Sr., Judith Hughes and her husband Joe Mejia and the late Michael Hughes, Jr. and his late wife Sherry; cherished grandfather of Alvin Lauf, Jr. and his wife Sarah, Shawn Hill Jr. and his partner Josh, Amy Heath and her husband Mike, Christopher Lauf and his wife Christina, Angie Mejia and Ste, Shelly Arnold and her husband Tom, Corina Mejia and Renee, and Samantha Mejia and Dejan & 19 great grandchildren.

Michael was a true outdoorsman.  He loved fishing, camping, and everything that came along with it. During his spare time not spent in the woods or by a fishing hole, you could find Michael cheering on the hometown teams.  He loved the Orioles and the Ravens.  Above all, he loved his family and was blessed beyond measure to have so many near and dear to him. By sheer size alone, it's clear this family has no shortage of love.  He will be so very missed by all of us who were so fortunate to know him.
