Maynard Palmer

Maynard Ely Palmer, age 75, passed away peacefully December 23 surrounded by friends and family at St. Martin’s, Catonsville.  He is preceded in death by his parents: Mossie Ely Palmer and Rudolph Martin Palmer of Silver Spring, MD.  He is survived by:  his brother, R. Martin Palmer, Jr., and sister-in-law, Shirley Palmer; his brother, David Palmer, and sister-in-law, Patti Palmer; his brother, Richard Palmer; his sister, Marilyn Palmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Maynard graduated from the University of Maryland with academic honors in civil engineering where he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honorary Fraternity. He worked for Bechtel Corporation as senior design engineer on containment structures for nuclear power plants.  He later worked for SKA Engineers as their senior structural engineer for retail structures.

Maynard shared his love of learning, reading, traveling, nature, and hiking: gifting books to family and friends, taking nieces on trips to France and Italy, and vacationing and hiking with family and friends in the Great Smoky Mountains.
