Mary Vernetson

On October 3, 2021, Mary Catherine Vernetson (nee Lotterer) passed away at 104 years of age at St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Home.  She was the beloved wife of the late William George Vernetson; devoted mother of  William Vernetson and his wife Theresa, Mary Cecilia Vernetson, Bruce Vernetson, Madalen Muraro and her husband Leo; cherished grandmother of Chad Taylor, Marianne Vernetson and her husband David, Bruce Vernetson and his wife Kim, Bryan Vernetson, and Joshua Skurnik who predeceased her in August 2021.  She also had 8 great grandchildren.  She survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Early in life she worked at Calvert Distillery in Elkridge, Md before meeting her husband William.  After marrying she was a housewife devoted to her husband and children.  After her husband’s death in 1969 she was involved in chaperoning at the Catholic Youth Organization where her youngest daughter was a member.   She also volunteered at the Church of the Ascension for 26 years preparing for masses and church events.  Her happiest times were when she was around her family.

Family members and friends will gather on Thursday October 14th from 3-5 PM in our Arbutus location.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 15th at 11 AM.  Interment will immediately follow in the New Cathedral Cemetery.
