Mary Regina Crawford , 92, of Arbutus, died at her home on August 14, 2014.
Mrs. Crawford was born in Baltimore on May 18, 1922. She was raised in the Waverly area of Baltimore City, along with her sister Genevieve Bonnell and her brother John Miner, by their widowed mother, Mrs. Teresa Miner. As a young woman she worked at Reeds Department store. Then after the start of WWII she worked in a General Motors plant for the war effort. She married Donald Crawford and shortly after moved to her home on Sycamore Avenue in Arbutus, where she was a homemaker and raised two children. Mrs. Crawford enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. She loved to work in her yard and tend to her birds. When her children were young she volunteered at Arbutus Elementary and Junior High schools. She was a Girl Scout troop leader for Troop #999 and a Cub Scout den mother. She was a member of the Arbutus chapter of the Baltimore County Homemakers Club.
She has been a member of the Church of the Ascension Roman Catholic Church for over 61 years. She is survived by her three beloved granddaughters Pamela Blades of Severna Park, Jill Bohn and Beth Harmon both of Pasadena. In addition, she is survived by her children, Sally Prince of Pasadena and Eric Crawford of Glen Burnie as well as, seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at Church of the Ascension Roman Catholic Church, 4603 Poplar Ave, Halethorpe, MD on Saturday, August 23 rd at 11am. She will be laid to rest at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens in Rosedale.
