Marilyn M. Mengele

On March 3, 2025, at the age of 94, Marilyn M. Mengele of Catonsville, Maryland passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 28th, 1931 in South Baltimore to Augustine and Margaret Mack. She had spent close to 70 years of her life in the Catonsville Community area and was devoted to her church and parish, St. Agnes.

Marilyn was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Joseph J. Mengele, Sr. and her daughter, Michele Connor. She is survived by her son, Joseph J. Mengele, Jr. and his wife Kathy, her daughter Crissy Skoglin and her husband Michael, son in-law Richard Connor (Michele), cherished grandmother of Nolan (& Christina) Connor, Nick (& Lindsey) Connor, Amanda (& Jordan) Kein, Casey Mengele, Jordan (& Marisa) Mengele, Jake and Jesse Skoglin, devoted great-grandmother of Camden, Chanlie, Josephine, Alaina, Grace, Emmett, Raylee, Blakely, and Sadie.

Marilyn was a loving mother/grandmother who was always there for her children/grandchildren, especially attending many of their school events. She was a fun-loving woman who lived life to the fullest. She particularly enjoyed the Holidays (especially Christmas) and the gathering of family during those special times. She was a great friend to many and was active in her neighborhood, the St. Agnes parish and Arbutus Senior Center. Marilyn’s crafting skills were amazing. People would come from all over to see and buy the many items she would craft. If she wasn’t crafting at home, she would be crafting at the Senior Center and volunteering to teach others how to enjoy her beloved hobby. Marilyn was also a devoted animal lover. She will be deeply missed by her loyal companion of 10 years, Lily, but will be reunited with all of her other faithful pets throughout her lifetime including her beloved Yorkie, Abby.

Family members and friends will gather in our Arbutus location at 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, on Friday March 21, 2025 from 3-5 & 7-9PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 22, 2025 at 10AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Catonsville.  Interment will be private.
