MARILYN ALICE GETTMAN (nee Mustoe) of Ellicott City, Maryland. Born July 4, 1928 in Spokane, Washington. Preceded in death by parents Alice Ethelyn Spring and Clarence Mustoe, and husband James Curtis Gettman. Survived by sister Emily Sabin (Naples, FL), daughters Linda Ann Judson (Gary) of Catonsville, MD and Janet Lee Gettman of Santa Rosa, CA, grandchildren Alyssa Marie Judson, James Richard Judson, and Olivia Ann Judson of Catonsville, nieces Carolyn Sabin (Naples, FL) and Sheryl Ashley (Spring Valley, CA), and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Over the years, she generously shared her talents, filling her days joining her husband in running the family’s cabinet business. She also proudly collaborated with him on customizing and building their family home in Willits, California. She supported her children as a Bluebirds leader and in Job’s Daughters. She enjoyed organizing camping trips in various family trailers and motorhomes – along the way studying and educating the family as they travelled across the many states and countries of North America. She enjoyed piano playing and cooking with the family, sewing, photography, genealogy, beachcombing, and experiencing life alongside her loved ones. Marilyn greatly adored her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them, particularly when they were out of school for the summer and included her in road trips and day trips through the Mid-Atlantic region. In her last months, she enjoyed the company of her companion, Kroh Williams, and the family dog, Skippy.
Family members and friends will honor Marilyn’s at the family owned and operated AMBROSE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Arbutus, MD 21227 with a public visitation on Saturday, 2/13 from 1pm-3pm.
