On August 13, 2013, Marianne Barron (nee Leimkuhler) passed away at University of Maryland Medical Center after a valiant year-long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Robert R. Barron and devoted mother to Elizabeth and Linda Barron, all of Woodstock, MD. Aside from her husband and daughters, she is survived by her parents, Edwin and Petronella Leimkuhler of Catonsville, MD, brother Paul Leimkuhler of Pasadena, MD, and brother John Leimkuhler of Grapevine, TX. Marianne graduated from Keough High School 1979 and went on to get a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education at Towson University in 1983. She worked in the Child Life department at Kenndey Krieger Institute for many years prior to turning to a teaching career. She received a Master of Science in Early Childhood Special Education in 1995 from the Johns Hopkins University. She will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched - family, friends, colleagues and former students.
A Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated Saturday, August 17, 2013 10 am at the Church of the Ascension, 4603 Poplar Avenue Halethorpe, MD 21227. Interment to immediately follow services in the Columbia Memorial Park, 12005 Clarksville Pike Columbia, MD 21029. At the family's request donations may be directed to Catholic Charities, 320 Cathedral St. Baltimore, MD 21201.
