Lorraine Marie Grow

November 1923 — June 2021

Lorraine “Rainey” Grow peacefully left our presence on June 12, 2021 at 97 years of age. She looked forward to reuniting with her beloved husband Robert Grow, and her two daughters Margaret “Peggy” Meile and Nicol “Nicki” Powers, who pre-deceased her.

“Rainey” was born in Baltimore Maryland and enjoyed many years in Arbutus, Maryland. More recently she lived in Reisterstown, Maryland.     Always a true lady, “Rainey” was always impeccably dressed, and kept a lovely home and yard — always fully decorated for every holiday. Her 200 dozen+ annual Christmas cookies delighted family, friends and co-workers for years.

She is survived by her son-in-law David Powers; grandchildren Melanie Meile, William Meile, Jeanne Meile, Mark Grow and his wife Kathy, Lorraine Sann, Michael Sann, and Michael Wheeler and his wife Ann; great grandchildren Elijah Mann, BlueJay Interrobang, Scott Meile, Sean “Alex” Meile and his wife Mandy, Phillip Newman and his wife Jessica, Ashley Baker and her husband Steve, Amanda Sikorsky and her husband Matt, Shannon McMullen, Brandon Huster and Katlyn Shaw, Sean Wheeler, Erin and Camden Wheeler, and Patrick Wheeler; and 12 great-great grandchildren. Her caring, loving, and generous nature will be sorely missed.

Friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday June 16th from 3-5 & 7-9pm at Ambrose Funeral Home,1328 Sulphur Spring Rd in Arbutus, MD. Funeral service will be held at Ambrose Funeral home on Thursday June 17th at 12noon with burial immediately following at Maryland Veterans Cemetery 1122 Sunrise Beach Road in Crownsville, MD.
