Linda Svatek, aged 70, died peacefully on March 5th, 2018 at Gilchrist hospice. Linda was born June 10th, 1947 at home in Severna Park, MD, the daughter of Wenzel Leedy and Caroline Leedy (nee Russell).
Linda was a fearless woman. She knew her mind and wasn’t afraid to share it with you.
In 1968, she married the love of her life, Edward V. Svatek, Sr. They met in Baltimore while he was serving in the Coast Guard. They shared a loving relationship committed to each other. Linda was a loving mother. She encouraged her son to pursue his dreams and assured him that he could accomplish anything. She supported all his crazy endeavors like traveling the world and trekking in the Himalayas. The most lasting impact she had on Vince’s life was introducing him to his wife Lisa.
Linda trusted her heart to her Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith guided her life, provided her strength and community. She took great pleasure in getting together with her sisters in Christ, Elizabeth Hammond, Janet Hoffman, and Lois Kirchner. She enjoyed all things British, especially tea, gatherings with family and friends, spending time in the mountains of western Maryland, and reading.
Linda was a proud business woman. She worked as an administrative assistant in many Baltimore businesses. She was also a property and construction manager responsible for building what is now the Bank of America building in the Inner Harbor.
Linda will be missed by her husband, Ed; son, Vince and his wife Lisa Seivold-Svatek; sister Nancy Barlow (nee Leedy) and her husband Kent Barlow; Ed’s family Mary Ann and Theodore Scarinzi, Ellen and Lee DeHihns, John Svatek, Frank Svatek, Karl and Carol Svatek; and numerous dear relatives and close friends.

Arbutus, MD 21227 to remember and celebrate Linda’s life on Friday, March 9th at 3-5PM and 7-9PM.
