Linda Jones

Linda (Hendrickson) Jones passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 11th, 1950 to the late Floyd and Dorothy Hendrickson. She was preceded in death by her lovely sister Betty Stiegler. Linda devoted herself to her dear husband Ron and four daughters, Karen, Kelly, Julie and Jenny. Over the years, Linda’s loving arms tightly embraced her ten grandchildren, Emily, Hailey, Tyler, John, Connor, Kayla, Aaron, Carson, Jack and Alyssa. Linda was lovingly nicknamed ‘June’ throughout her life due to her likeness of ‘June Cleaver’. She had an unwavering dedication to her family and their comfort and joy. She loved to plan and host gatherings for her many friends and large extended family full of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. An event rarely concluded without Linda asking, “who wants to play a game?” She had an uncanny way of connecting with others in a deep and positive way. She was passionate about her journey to sobriety and dedication to Alcoholics Anonymous. She played an active role in the AA community where she grew powerful relationships and sponsored several others in their own journeys. Linda truly lived her life to the fullest by enjoying the simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, playing games, baking the best sugar cookies, and visiting antique shops.

Family, friends and others whose lives Linda touched are invited to The Other Barn from 3 PM – 7 PM on Sunday, October 24th at 5851 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia, MD  21045 to reminisce, grieve, support each other and of course, just chat. There may be a game or two as well. Beverages and lite fare will be served. Linda was preceded in death by her precious granddaughter Kayla, who also lost her battle with cancer.
