Lamar Brubaker

January 1, 1995 — August 11, 2022

Lamar “Nate” Nathaniel Brubaker passed away on August 11, 2022 near Newark, DE as a result of injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident. Nate was 27 years old. He passed away alongside his close friend, Martin Whittier. Nate was born on January 1, 1995 in Lancaster, PA to Donald and Luann Brubaker.

While Nate was taken away from us too soon, he did more in his 27 years of life than most will ever do in a hundred lifetimes.

Nate grew up in Strasburg, PA on the family farm. It was there that he found an incredible work ethic. He used that work ethic to launch his own video production company, Rock Shore Media, in 2012 while he was still in high school. He was one of the few who truly took a risk to follow his dreams and turned his passion for video and storytelling into his career. Not only did he take on building Rock Shore, but he fully immersed himself in other hobbies such as: gardening and canning, hiking with his fiancé and his fur babies - Ollie and Lola, and traveling the world. Most recently, he was planning a wedding in October 2022 to marry the love of his life. He was doing it all and more; or as Nate would call it, “living the dream”.

His fiancé, Shannon, asked him one day: Why do you do it all? How do you keep going? He replied with: “Simple reasons really. I do it for you, I do it for our families, I do it for my employees, and I do it for the film community. That’s all the motivation I need.” Not once were his endeavors ill-intentioned or for personal gain. It’s no surprise that he gained the most fulfillment from life out of seeing others succeed and ensuring everyone’s happiness first and always.

For those that knew Nate, they knew that his soul was extraordinary. He was passionate, admirable, selfless, and inspiring. His infectious smile and positive demeanor pushed all of us to become the best versions of ourselves. He was a person that most strived to become, and the impact he left on our lives will be irreplaceable.

Nate is survived by his fiancé, Shannon Harney; his father, Donald (Ann) Brubaker; his brothers: Quentin, Halden, and Devon (Jennifer) Brubaker; Shannon’s mother and father: Cindy and Patrick Harney, her brother, Patrick Harney, and her sister, Allyson Harney; and so many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, grandparents, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Luann Brubaker; his grandparents: Miriam and John McMichael, Harold Brubaker; Ralph and Martha McIntyre; and his uncle James Lamar Brubaker.

A viewing will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home of Arbutus on Friday from 4-7pm. Interment is private.
