Karen Porter

October 5, 1960 — May 30, 2016

Karen Ann Marie Porter (Taylor), 55,  died on Monday May 30th, 2016 at her home in Baltimore, Maryland with family by her side.

Beloved wife of 28 years to Wayne Porter Sr.. She is survived by her 5 sisters and 1 brother; her daughters, Krista Viel and Samantha Porter; her stepsons Wayne Porter Jr. and Christopher Porter; her stepdaughter Michelle Skocik; and her grandchildren and step-grandchildren Sabrina, Casadee, Mason, Jackson, Ellison, Cameron, Natalie and Morgan.

Karen was born in Baltimore to John Thomas Taylor and Rose Mary Taylor. She attended St Benedicts Church and School and eventually earned her GED. She held many jobs as a receptionist, cook, and cashier, but she loved her job as wife, mother and grandmother most. Karen enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafting, and drawing, playing the piano, and going to tea with her sisters. She loved to talk on the phone and tell you all about her day and she always wanted to know what you were making for dinner. And if you didn't know the answer to something, you could always ask Karen because she was always right - just ask Wayne. Most of all, Karen was always there for her family and friends and anyone who needed it with an open heart. Karen always put others first. She will be dearly missed.

Karen is pre-deceased by John and Rose and a sister Dawn Marie Taylor.

Family and friends may call at the family owned Ambrose Funeral Home, Inc., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Arbutus on Thursday, June 2nd from 4 PM to 6 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2612 Wilkens Ave., Baltimore on Friday, June 2nd at 10 AM. Interment to immediately follow at Loudon Park Cemetery.
