June Yesko

October 26, 1936 — March 30, 2025

Salisbury

On March 30, 2025; June Kay Yesko passed away. She was beloved wife of nearly 50 years of the late Frederick Yesko, Sr.; loving mother of Kelly Skopp (Michael), Frederick Yesko, Jr. (Louise), and Andrew Yesko (Ann-Marie); cherished grandmother of Ashley Yesko, Blair Cerretani (John), Nathan Skopp, Abigail Yesko, and Benjamin Skopp; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

June Kay Yesko passed away on March 30, 2025. Born June Kay Thompson in Baltimore, she was the only child of Katherine and Robert Thompson. After graduating from Catonsville High School in 1954, she married Frederick Yesko, Sr., on Thanksgiving Day 1955, launching nearly 50 cherished years together. Following their wedding, June and Fred settled in Lansdowne. When Hurricane Agnes struck in 1972, June held strong as the family relocated to Arbutus, moving into her childhood home. She was a devoted mother to three children: Kelly Skopp and her husband Michael, Frederick Yesko, Jr. and his wife Louise, Andrew Yesko and his wife Ann-Marie. She was a beloved grandmother to Ashley Yesko, Blair Cerretani and her husband John, Nathan Skopp, Abigail Yesko, and Benjamin Skopp. June is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. As an only child, she embraced the lively chaos of joining the Yesko family, gaining 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Every summer, June, Fred, and the kids vacationed in Ocean City, purchasing their Montego Bay home on July 4, 1976, and making it their permanent home in 1990 by settling into the Caine Woods Community. Her career took her from Catonsville Community College in the 1970s to Citizens Bank and Candy Kitchen—all in Ocean City, MD—before joining Fred at Old Pro Golf, where granddaughters Blair and Abigail worked their first jobs—recalling June made Blair & Abby do the heavy lifting while handing mean customers ugly golf balls. In 2004, retirement led them to a warm and cozy home in Salisbury, where June stayed until her passing, often bird watching from her beautiful sunroom and tending her lush plants inside and out with a green thumb. Cruises with friends and countless Disney World adventures with family filled their days, with Ashley, Blair, Nathan, Abigail, and Benjamin each finding magic in her laughter, some cheered on by June at their sporting events. Blessed with a playful sense of humor and a lead foot while driving, June never let the kids win at games, rose above life’s challenges like her cherished giraffe keepsakes, loved the Game Show Network and Hallmark Channel movies, and savored life’s flavors—iced tea, pizza, crab cakes, and sushi—starting each day with cinnamon raisin bread, her sweet tooth shining through hidden Hershey bars, Rheb’s candies, and a love for baked goods, especially cookies. In September 2024, she danced with joy at granddaughter Blair’s wedding, an amazing weekend brimming with love and family. June’s vibrant spirit will live on in every smile she inspired, her memory a lasting treasure.
