Joshua Raymond Yosuico, born September 4, 1982, left us unexpectedly August 9, 2023, welcomed in heaven by his treasured mom Mickey. Entirely his own man, Josh wouldn’t want a typical obituary, so we honor him by telling his story in a way we hope he’d like.
Josh’s smile lit up the room, his eyes spoke volumes, his laugh was contagious, and he loved with all his heart. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, grandson, friend, and father to Jake. Being a dad was one of Josh’s most joyful accomplishments and Jake knew he was loved and cherished. Family and friends will keep his memory and love alive for Jake as he grows.
Josh lived his life with integrity and valued his family, friends, and community. He was fiercely loyal and loved being social with his tribe, the ones who he met along the way, from high school to college and well into adulthood. As a special education teacher, Josh touched many lives, demonstrating a unique ability to connect with troubled kids. He was a calming force with a special way of making even the most challenging child feel seen, respected, and understood.
Raised in Baltimore, Josh was a strong and dedicated athlete, playing indoor soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and football, which earned him a scholarship to McDaniel College. An avid sports fan, Josh was devoted to his hometown Ravens and Orioles. While he loved his native Baltimore and had lived in Pennsylvania, Vermont and most recently upstate New York, Montana won his heart and soul with its special Western charms. A skilled and passionate outdoorsman, Josh was happiest and most serene when camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing. We hope you’ll join us in imagining Josh blissfully fly-fishing a heavenly mountain stream with country music echoing through the woods.
Josh is survived by many family members and friends who loved him and will miss him more than words can say. We are heartbroken and mourning this awful loss. We endure with a tiny spark of hope that this tragedy will raise awareness about mental illness and suicide prevention, saving lives so other families won’t suffer such agony.
The family requests people wear casual clothing, especially Baltimore gear (Ravens, Orioles, Gibbons) as Josh would want people comfortable and representing his love of all things Baltimore. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to support the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at https://988lifeline.org/donate/
