Joseph Henry Neville, age 97, was born on November 12, 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Frederick and Ella Neville. Joseph passed away on January 2, 2017 in Baltimore Maryland. He was the fifth oldest of 15 children. Joseph was a WWII veteran who served as an Army Combat Medic in the South Pacific. Joseph was very active in the Patapsco Council Knights of Columbus. He was also an active member of the Prime Timers Club from the St. Josephs Monastery. Joseph worked 39 years for the B&O Railroad. He bowled for many years into his nineties. He also enjoyed listening to the Baltimore Orioles on the radio on the front porch of the family home. He gave the Cookie Monster a run for his money since cookies were his favorite snack!
Joseph was the beloved husband of Mary Bernadette for 66 years. They both enjoyed travel and taking bus trips together. Loving father of Gemma, Bernadette, Joseph, Kevin, and Daniel; grandfather of 13 children and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers.
Family members and friends will honor Joseph’s life with a public viewing on Wednesday, January 4 2017 at St. Josephs Monastery Parish from 10 am till 12 pm where a mass of the Christian Burial will follow on the same day beginning at 12 pm. In lieu of flowers, at the family’s request donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to My Brother’s Keeper, 4207 Frederick Road, Baltimore, MD 21229.
