Joseph M. Holman, Sr.

Joseph Martin Holman, 83, of Selbyville, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by family February 8, 2025.

Joe was born September 3, 1941 in Locust Point, Baltimore, MD. He worked as a longshoreman at the Port of Baltimore, ILA 333 from a young age retiring in 2004. Joe was an avid Orioles fan, loved deer hunting with his boys Joey and Pete, watching sports with Bridget, spending time with family and relaxing in his recliner with a cigar. His favorite thing to do was dance with his beloved Bonnie, and what a dancer he was! Joe will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie, his parents Joseph and Pauline Holman, sisters Dorothy, Catherine, Rosemary, Ann, Mary Ann, Josephine, Pauline and brothers Lawrence (Perch), Mike, John, Joey and Frankie

He is survived by his children, Joseph Holman Jr (wife Janice), Peter Holman (fiance Krista), and Bridget Good (husband Dale). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Kim Taylor who he always thought of as his own. Grandchildren Tori Sadler, Mackenzie Good, Chelsey Ries, Brittany Inocencio, Margaret Cardano, Ryan Holman, Tyler Holman and Sarah Holman. Great grandchildren Brandon Sadler Jr, Jayce Sadler, Huntley Sadler, Riley Pruitt, Logan Ries, Aidan Ries, Sebastian Cardano and Alex Cardano.

A viewing will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home in Lansdowne, 2719 Hammond Ferry Rd, Halethorpe, MD 21227 on Wednesday February 19, 2025 from 11am-1pm with a funeral service starting at 1pm. Burial will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Bonnie Holman.
