Joseph Ambrose, Sr.

Joseph F. Ambrose, Sr., age 77, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2020. He is the beloved husband of 57 years to Barbara S. Ambrose; devoted dad of Joseph F. Ambrose, Jr. and his wife Jeanette, Sean P. Ambrose and his wife Jessica, and the late Richard Bryan Ambrose; cherished Pop of Kim, JR and Allie, Christopher and Danielle, Allison, Seaden, and Ronan; great grandfather of Avery William, Avery Jane, Riley Eve, Eloise Barbara, and Mila Quinn; dear bros of Alfreda and her husband George, Sandy and her husband Chuck, and the late Marlene and their families. Joe is also survived by many other loving relatives and a host of friends.

Ambrose Funeral Home’s growth is largely credited to Joe, second generation owner. His drive, passion, and dedication to service is what helped him gain the trust of Arbutus, Lansdowne, and the surrounding communities. If he wasn’t helping a family you could often find him at the casino with Barb likely getting a bite to eat, at the Arbutus Social Club on Friday nights, the ball field watching a grandchild’s game, or the Howard Lodge 101 as he was proud to be a Mason. Arbutus will not be the same without Joe, his stylish cars, his one liners, and his knowledge of all things trivia. He will be sorely missed by all.

Family members and friends will gather in the Lansdowne location from 7-9PM on Sunday and in Arbutus from 2-4 & 7-9PM on Monday. *Please note the 2 different locations and days... the website is not designed to show two different viewing locations*

A funeral service will be held at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church on Tuesday at 12:30PM.  Interment will immediately follow in the Meadowridge Memorial Park.

Memorial donations in Joe's name may be directed to Holy Nativity Lutheran Church.
