John (Rusty) Mox, Jr.

Arbutus

Suddenly on April 28, 2020, John “Rusty” Joseph Mox, Jr.  passed away. He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Julia Ann (Stevens) Mox, loving children John Joseph Mox III and Emily Ann Mox, devoted sister-in-law, Carol Mox and cherished nephew, Eric Mox.  Rusty was predeceased by his brother Douglas Mox and his parents, John Sr. and Mildred Mox.  He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Rusty was born in Baltimore and moved to Morrell Park and then Arbutus/Halethorpe and lived there until his passing.  He attended Lansdowne High School, graduating in 1975.

He was an avid concert goer and loved rock and roll, having a vast collection of t-shirts, concert tickets and music.  He enjoyed watching and going to Nascar races, as well as seeing the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens play and reminiscing about the Baltimore Colts.

Rusty enjoyed watching old movies and TV shows.  He was famous in his own right for being an extra in local movies and TV shows such as “Homicide: Life on the Street,” The Replacements and John Waters movies. He has many photos with celebrities and famous musicians. He loved talking about music and worked with local band “KIX” before they became well-known.

He was a hugely devoted father and husband who cherished his children and took care of them from the moment they were born.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
