John Bent

John Francis Bent, age 81, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2017. He was filled with pride and love for his family and was at peace with the person he had become. John had a love for playing the guitar and working in his yard. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and took great pride in his successful career as a chemical engineer.

John is the beloved husband of Susan Michie-Bent; devoted father of John J. (Cassandra) Bent, Michael R. (Deborah) Bent, Kathleen M. (Steven) Ross, Anthony J. (Melanie) Bent, and Joseph P. (Deborah) Bent; loving step father of Mark Keithley and Sara (Anthony) Ring; dear brother of James A.. (Anita) Bent and Arlene L. Boyson; also survived by 15 grandchildren and dear dog Sienna. John is preceded in death by his wife Frances A. Bent.

A visitation will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Arbutus, MD 21227 on Thursday, November 30th, from 5:30 – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 1st at 10am,  at Ascension Catholic Church, 4603 Poplar Ave, Arbutus, MD 21227, followed by burial at Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
