Joan Francis

Joan Virginia Francis affectionately known as "Nanny" , age 84, passed away on February 11, 2020 in Catonsville, Maryland. Joan was born on April 1, 1935 in Knoxville, Maryland to the late Myrtle Elizabeth Leopold (nee Potter) and to the late Velva Leopold. Joan is the beloved wife of the late Wallace H. Francis, Jr.; loving mother of Sharon Lukas and her husband Leon, Wallace Francis, III and his wife Garnetta, and Connie Francis; cherished grandmother of Damien, Amy, Shannon, Erin, Jeffrey, Wallace, IV, Amber, and the late Leeann and Elizabeth, and great grandmother of 7 great grandchildren; dear sister of Jimmy Leopold. Joan is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Family members and friends will honor Nanny's life with a public viewing on Sunday, 2/16/2020 from 3pm-5pm & 7pm-9pm where a funeral service will be held on Monday, 2/17/2020 beginning at 10am. Interment to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
