James Quoss, Sr.

February 13, 1946 — April 22, 2020

James Robert Quoss, Sr went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 22. Jim was devoted and loyal husband to his wife, Barbara Quoss for 56 years, whom he married when they were both just seventeen. He was also a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, James Robert Quoss, Jr, and his grandson Jesse Robert Quoss and too many friends and loved ones to mention.

Jim grew up in south west Baltimore and was a huge Baltimore Colts and Baltimore Ravens fan. He was a steel worker and maintenance mechanic for a half of a century and always enjoyed working with his hands. His favorite activities included fishing, crabbing, hunting and riding motorcycles. On the weekends in the summer you could see him in the back yard steaming crabs or cooking something on the grill; a red brick grill that he, himself had designed and made. Most recently, he spent his Sundays shooting pool with his friends at the American Legion. His other vocations included coaching little league baseball, volunteering for the sports boosters at Cardinal Gibbons High School, volunteering for Legion and president of his local Steelworker’s Union. Jim Quoss was always there for his friends and his family and was quick to hand a few dollars to a stranger in need. He was always positive, even in the midst of a storm. Even as we grieve his loss, Heaven surely rejoices at the arrival of my Dad and my best friend...
