James Edward Malone, Jr., age 67, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 16, 2024. He was born on July 8, 1957 to the late James and Margaret Malone, Sr.; beloved husband of Darlene Malone; cherished father of James Malone, III, Danica Crum and her husband Eric, and step children Jesse Markov and his wife Becki, and Shawn Markov; dear Pop Pop of Owen, Lainey, Saylor Rae, Landon, and Jaxon; cherished brother of Peggy Malone, Patrick Malone and his wife Diane, and the late Daniel Malone; brother in law of Gilbert Goodrich and his wife Cathy and Debra Drake and her husband Larry; loving uncle of Meghan, Tori, Lindsay, and Morgan; also survived by the mother of his children Lisa, many other loving relatives, and a host of friends.
James served the citizens of Havre de Grace for over 10 years, as an active member of Susquehanna Hose Company Division 5.
Along with his service to the Havre de Grace Community, James was also a former Lieutenant of the Baltimore County Fire Department, retiring in March of 2007, and a lifetime member of the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department, with over 50 years of service. James' service to his community didn't stop there, as he is a former Delegate for the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 12A (Baltimore & Howard County) from January 1995 to November 2014, where he chaired and served on multiple committees.
James was very well regarded by his friends, peers, and community, leading to multiple awards and recognition throughout his careers.
Jimmy, we are all better for knowing you and having the honor to have you as part of our lives. We will all miss hearing your "hello my friend" or "hey buddy", along with your well known cologne scent. You will be greatly missed by many. Rest easy, brother…
A visitation will be held at St. Joseph's Monastery on Thursday December 19 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A funeral mass will take place on Friday December 20 at 11am at Ascension Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jimmy's memory to Johns Hopkins Hospital for Cancer Research, 1550 Orleans Street, Baltimore, MD 21287.
