James A. Harris, 52, died Oct 7, 2016 after a battle with cancer that he fought with dignity and optimism. James was predeceased by his parents H. Norris Harris Jr. and Frances M. Harris. He is survived by his husband Robert Craig, stepdaughters Amber Craig and boyfriend Scott, Paula, Shellie and spouse Todd, granddaughters Allie and Lindsey, aunt Anne Mosier, sister Deborah Baldwin and spouse Robert, brother Peter Harris and spouse Jean Schaefer, nieces and nephew Samantha and Seth Baldwin and Elizabeth Harris. James was born in New Hartford, NY and raised in Niantic, CT where he was active in track and the marching band at East Lyme High School. James received a Bachelor degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. In the 1990’s James moved to Baltimore, MD where he was a social worker employed by Johns Hopkins Healthcare. James enjoyed travel, politics, ancestry, medieval festivals, and spending time with his cherished granddaughters. James leaves a tremendous void for his family and friends.
Relatives and friends may visit at the family owned Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne 2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd. on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9pm, where a Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 8pm. Interment will be Private.
