On February 8, 2021, James M. Goble Sr., 71, passed away after a long illness. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, he enlisted in the US Air Force National Guard in 1967. He later joined the Air Force Reserves and was honorably discharged in November 2000. He graduated from Catonsville Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Architectural Design and also studied Criminal Justice. In 1975, he successfully completed training for the Baltimore City Police Department. He spent the next several years protecting and serving local communities as a Police Officer and Sheriff’s Deputy. He was active in his community as a member of the Santa’s Helpers organization, a children’s charity ran by his parents, which benefitted neighborhoods in SW Baltimore. His love of architecture ultimately drew him back to the craft in the 1980s, and he continued in that capacity until retirement. James Sr. was preceded in death by his father Harry and his brother Robert. He is survived by his mother Louise, sister Peg, son James Jr. (Justin), daughter Mandy (Danny), grandson Hunter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family & friends may gather at the family owned & operated Ambrose Funeral Home, Inc., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Halethorpe, MD 21227 for a public visitation on Sunday, February 14th from 3:00-5:00 PM & 7:00-9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 15th at 12:00 PM at the same location. Interment will immediately follow at Loudon Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name can be made to the American Cancer Society (to which James Sr. donated monthly) or Baltimore Heritage (non-profit dedicated to preserving historic properties in Baltimore).
