His children were his pride and joy - Jack (the late Bonnie) Cockerill, Donna (the late John) League, Mark (Melissa) Cockerill and Dawn Cockerill. He was the proud and loving grandfather of six grandchildren, Becky (Paul) Graham, Jennifer Cockerill, Beth (Todd) Henry, Daniel, Steven and David Cockerill and one great-granddaughter, Margot Henry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as loving and caring friends. He is predeceased by three sisters and one brother.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, spending time with his family, walking and reading. He was a long-time member of Linthicum Baptist Church and a resident of Oakcrest Retirement Village.
He was a man of integrity and honor, a proud American, and a true gentleman. His life’s passion was serving Almighty God and the study of His word. Whether referred to as Dad, Pop Pop, Jack, Mr. Jack, or Mr. Cockerill, he was loved by all who knew him. He will always be remembered as a Godly man with a dry sense of humor and wit, and for his wisdom, kindness, gentleness, patience, and his loving and generous nature.
