Irene Roszelle

IRENE G. ROSZELLE was born to the late Lewis H. Groht and Lily R. Bourne Groht on October 2, 1921 in Connecticut. She was the youngest of three daughters.

She received her higher education from New York College where she proudly graduated. Irene held several jobs in her lifetime, such as teaching in the New York School System, Dental assistant and most recently Property Manager for Continental Reality where she retired at the age of 82 years.

Irene enjoyed life. She loved her family, the beach, her cat and gardening very much. She enjoyed watching television and listening to the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles on the radio. But, her heart always remained with the New York Yankees. Her favorite color was pink. Irene was an avid reader. Furthermore, she decided at the age of 82 years to give up driving only due to her failing eyesight.

Irene, age 93 years passed away on July 2, 2015 in Catonsville, Maryland in the loving care of her daughter. Irene was the beloved wife to the late Robert Ford Roszelle for 33 years before his passing. She is survived by her loving daughter Kimberly Helvig and her husband James Helvig; cherished grandson James Robert Helvig; dear great-granddaughters Stephanie Amber Helvig and Kayla Helvig. Also, survived by other loving family, friends and the staff and people at Ridgeway Manor Nursing and Rehab Center who gave her such excellent and loving care. She would have loved to thank all the staff and people at Ridgeway Manor.

Family members and friends will honor Irene’s life with a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery on Friday, July 3, 2015 beginning at 11:30AM.
