Irene Theresa Browne passed away at the dawn of a new day and at the beginning of a new week on Sunday, August 2, 2015. She gave in to our Lord’s calling which gave her the healing and the rest that she so desired while hospitalized at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
Irene was born on Friday, October 14, 1938, to the late John Henry Neal and Almeater Gilchrist Neal. Irene had eight siblings. Four of whom have preceded her in death (John, Charles, Linwood, and Mary Helen). Irene was affectionately known as Rene (ring) Girl, Doll Baby, Mama, Nana, Aunt, Sister, Mother Browne, Nurse, Care Giver, Care Taker, Missionary, friend, virtuous woman, helper, and teacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Irene was baptized at an early age and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She continued to worship in the Christian faith throughout her life. For the past few years she was an active member of Grace Bible Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Earl M. Johnson, Jr.
Irene received her formal education in the Hampton, Virginia public school system where she graduated from high school. She would later go on to meet Willie C. Browne, Jr. and become his wife. From that union Irene Theresa gave birth to their son Ronald and daughter Jean. Irene eventually became a professional license vocational nurse and later a private duty nurse who loved to travel. Wherever she traveled, Irene did her best to have a positive impact on people. She was dearly loved by her coworkers. As well as the patients that she cared for. She enjoyed her family and friends and will be greatly missed by many.
She leaves to rejoice in her journey to meet GOD and to cherish her beautiful memory; her one and only husband Willie C. Browne, Jr. of Catonsville, MD; her loving son Ronald E.
