Ina Maxson

Ina “Ruth” Maxson, age 79, was born on April 16, 1936 in Newport News, Virginia to the late John Alfred Major and Lillian Bell Moody Major. Ruth peacefully passed away on July 12, 2015 in Sykesville, Maryland surrounded by her loving family. Ruth loved her grandkids, family gatherings and cooking for her large family. Ruth family loved her chicken and dumplings, banana pudding and homemade apple sauce. Ruth had the ability to spread a little along way when it came to taking care of her large family. She loved to have people around, the more the better. She loved the color pink. Recently she started visiting the casino and became very fond of it.

Ruth was the beloved wife of Donald Lee Maxson for 62 years; loving mother of Carol Antonis and her husband Wayne, Linda Fischer, Brenda Brown and her husband Don, Debra Kramp and her husband Paul, Dale Maxson and his wife Lisa, Betty Tregunna and her husband Joey and the late Wanda Maxson; cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and great- grandmother of 28 great- grandchildren and the late Alex. Also, survived by 2 brothers, 1 sister and other loving relatives and friends.

Family members and friends will honor Ruth’s life at the family owned and operated AMBROSE FUNERAL HOME OF LANSDOWNE, 2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd., Lansdowne, Maryland 21227 on Thursday from 1-3PM and 5-8PM where a funeral service will be held on Friday beginning at 11AM. Interment to follow in Meadowridge Memorial Park. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers donations in Ruth’s memory may be directed to the University Christian School, Alexandria Levering Scholarship Memorial Fund, 5520 University Blvd. W., Jacksonville, FL 32216.
