George Henry Cannon, Sr., age 78, passed away on December 13, 2017 in Towson, Maryland. He was born on February 5, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Della May Cannon (nee Unglesbee) and the late John Paul Cannon, Sr. George is the beloved husband of the late Jerilyn S. Cannon and Mary L. Cannon; loving father of George H. Cannon, Jr. and his wife Sue, and Cynthia L. Bellman and her husband Dwayne; cherished grandfather of George H. Cannon, III, DJ, Jeff, Kaitlyn, Daniel, Sarah and Amy Bellman, and great grandfather of Michael and Isaac Bellman; dear brother of Raymond Leroy Cannon and the late John Paul Cannon, Jr. Also, survived by his close friend Gino Polsinelli.

George was an avid baseball player and lifelong orioles fan. He spent his entire work career in the grocery business 27 years with Acme, 10 years with Santoni’s markets of Highlandtown, managed the Sanitary Market of Arbutus until its closing in 1998 then went to Shoppers, in Brooklyn Park, Maryland where he worked part time up until recently.

Family members and friends will honor George’s life at the family owned and operated AMBROSE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Arbutus, MD 21227 with a public viewing on Sunday and Monday from 3-5pm & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4416 Wilkens Ave., Baltimore, MD 21229 on Tuesday beginning at 11:30am. Interment Loudon Park Cemetery. At the family’s request donations in George’s memory may be directed to the Baltimore Orioles RBI Club, 333 West Camden St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
