George E. Ambrose, age 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 1, 1937 to the late Ernest T. Ambrose and the late Virginia Gosnell Ambrose. He is the beloved husband of 42 years to Donna Ambrose; loving father of Raymond Murray, Jr. and his wife Tami Murray, Bobby Ambrose and his wife Angie Ambrose, George Murray and his wife Angie Murray, Donna Rohe and her husband Dave Rohe, Wayne Ambrose and his wife Sharon Ambrose, Steve Ambrose, and Cameron Bates; cherished brother of Marguerite Engles and Tana Wickless; dear grandfather of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. George is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. George is preceded in death by his siblings Shirley Howes, Ernie Ambrose, and Dave Ambrose and a granddaughter Ashley Rohe.
George spent time serving in the United States Air Force. He then worked at Perishable Deliveries, Inc. where he retired after over 40 years with them.
George spent most of his quality time with family. He enjoyed his social time with his friends at the Gateway. He also enjoyed his weekend camping trips with his family and hunting trips with his late brother Ernie.
A viewing will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne, 2719 Hammonds Ferry Road, Halethorpe, MD 21227 on Thursday from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11am followed by burial at Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made directly to Donna Ambrose.
