“The Man the myth”.  The Legend.  Men wanted to be him, and children looked up to him.  One woman had him all his life for over 65 years; to be exact.  Emory Robert Lowry died April 26, 2018 at age 87 years old.  Bob loved his wife Theresa Lowry she was his sun and the moon, his only love.  He had four children, Bobby, Dawn, Ann and James.  Bob lived and loved the outdoors.  He loved camping, canoeing, fishing he was a man of nature and the sea.  He served in the Navy.  He crossed the Artic and fed the polar bears and he loved serving his country.  He loved to laugh and enjoyed playing jokes.  He passed these traits onto his kids and grandkids.  Humor was his key to life. He used it in all aspects of his life. He got his degree in Accounting but decided that was not his calling and took a job in corrections at the Jessup correction facility.  This is where he worked over 35 years and retired as a Captain at the age 75.  He stated it was hard work but rewarding.  He believes you work hard for what you want in life.   He laughed much and had fun doing it. Bob’s philosophy in life was not to worry to much and use humor to get through the tough times.  Positive thinking is the key.  Bob was a hero to many especially his kids and grandkids.  He was adored by friends, family and love ones.

He did this all the way up until the end.  Bob loved life and felt it should be simple, he was a strong willed, healthy man. He was later in life diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and then this year with lung cancer.  But even with the odds against him he kept life simple and enjoyed it.  He was always telling stories, smiling, laughing, and Playing jokes.
