Eleanor Cora Breitenbach affectionately known as “Ellie” by her family and friends was born on January 2, 1936 to the late Melvin Breitenbach and Eleanor G. Stein Breitenbach. Ellie's favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She loved all her family with all of her heart.

When Craig and Laurie were younger, she loved to go to their baseball and softball games.  She would cheer them on and bring them plenty of lemonade and snacks. She enjoyed going on summer vacations with her brother Charles and his family.  Her favorite destination was Ocean City, MD. When Craig wanted the latest comic book, Ellie would pick him up on Saturday morning and take him to the comic book store.  If Laurie's parents refused to buy her a new Barbie or other toy, Ellie would drop what she was doing, pick Laurie up and take her to Toys R Us to buy it for her. Ellie enjoyed having Craig and Laurie over to the house for overnight stays.  She loved to play card games with them, especially Hearts. Ellie always looked forward to Christmas every year.  She would wake up at the crack of dawn and bring her parents over to see Craig and Laurie open their gifts. She also loved having the whole family over her house on Sundays for dinner.  Ellie would help her mom make sour beef and dumplings. Ellie loved her mother and father so much…she worked with her brother Charles to plan a big 50th wedding anniversary celebration for their parents. She worked very hard at her job at USF&G and after her retirement, she worked hard taking care of both of her parents. She took them to all of their doctor appointments, made sure her dad always had the latest books from the library to read, and took her mom shopping all around town to find the best deals. Ellie loved watching the Baltimore Orioles, they were her favorite team.  She also enjoyed playing the Lottery and won on occasion.  Also, she liked to do word searches. Ellie never missed celebrating a birthday, graduation or wedding.  She would always send a birthday card to everyone, especially her 6 great nephews. Ellie would call Craig and Laurie to see how they and their kids were doing.  Even in her final days, she was interested in hearing about what was going on with her great nephews.  At one of the family's last visits with Ellie, she inquired about her oldest great nephew Justin and how he was doing with driving and his new job. Forever in our hearts and memories.

Ellie, age 79, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015 in Westminster, Maryland. She is survived by her brother Charles, nephew Craig, niece Laurie, cousins (Audrey, John, Pat, Ed and Rita) and 6 great nephews (Justin, Dylan, Conner, Colin, Logan and Cooper). Also, survived by other loving family members and friends.
