Edwina H. Spittel, age 99, passed away peacefully on January 27th, 2021. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland and worked as a switchboard operator for C&P Telephone Company at the Guilmore Exchange in Baltimore in the late 1930s and early 1940s, and afterwards as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker for the remainder of her years. She is the adored wife of the late Vernon Spittel; beloved mother of David Spittel & Gene Lance; and the loving sister of Mary Hughes. She is also survived by her cherished grandson Bryan Lance and his wife Karen along with their two children Sarah and Nathaniel, her great-grandchildren; her second grandson, Brent Lance and three great-grandchildren Kristina, Barbara, & Brent, Jr. along with three great-great grandchildren. Edwina enjoyed cooking, trips to the casinos and spending time with family. Some of her fondest memories were from her many years in the Emmanuel Lutheran Bowling League.
Family & friends may gather at the family owned & operated Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Halethorpe, MD 21227 for a public visitation on Tuesday, February 2nd from 10:30AM-12:30PM where a funeral service will take place at 12:30PM. Interment will immediately follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery of Crownsville with a limitation of 10 family members.
